Look and make
Samsung users have been complaining about the lack of new designs in Galaxy series smartphones for many years. The South Korean company has made a slight change in design in its premium segment smartphones, but budget and mid-range smartphones largely come with the old Samsung style. The Galaxy J7 Prime is also a part of the same crowd.
This phone has a physical home button below the display, which has capacitive recent and back buttons. In addition to the metal rear panel, the new J7 Prime has a strong feel and its curved rounded edges make it comfortable to hold. The Galaxy J7 Prime is slightly thicker with 8 mm thickness. However, despite having a 5.5 inch screen, the phone weighs 167 grams. The phone has a 3.5mm audio jack and a micro-USB port at the bottom. The phone has a Samsung logo above the display. Apart from this, the company also has branding on the rear.
The metal body given in the Galaxy J7 Prime makes it definitely better than other phones in the same price range. The front of the phone has 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass, which gives the phone a premium feel. J5 Prime with 5.5 inch screen size is not easy to use with one hand and during our review we were able to use it with both hands. The metal rear panel also causes the handset to slip a bit, especially when there is sweat in the hands. There is a power button on the right side of the phone and SIM and microSD card slots are given on the same side. Samsung has given separate slots for SIM and MicroSD card in J7 Prime. Therefore, the user will not have to choose one of the first SIM or microSD card like a hybrid slot.
The Galaxy J7 Prime has a camera with LED flash on the rear. It is worth noting that the rear panel of the phone is not completely made of metal and plastic panels have been used on the top and bottom. However, it looks like metal because of the paint.
The Galaxy J7 Prime has a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button. The fingerprint sensor is always easy to use. This allows the device to be unlocked quickly. Double tapping on the home button opens the camera and this camera works even when the phone is locked.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display which is quite bright. The phone can be read easily even in sunlight. The colors look good in the phone and the black levels are also fantastic. 480 ppi density means that the text sharp appears on the screen. The J7 Prine is a great device for watching videos and playing games.

Talk about software, Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has new S power planning and S Secure feature. The phone also has ultra-data saving mode and S bike mode. However, in the previous smartphone also these two feature smartphones have been given.
With S power planning, the remaining battery can be run longer. The company has given a new battery management system, it has been named S Power Planning. The company says that it gives you many features when the battery is low, keeping in mind your needs. If your phone battery is getting low, then you can reserve the battery for the necessary calls and messages. This is possible by reducing non-essential background activity. With the help of this feature you will be able to forward all your incoming calls to a particular number in case the battery runs out.
The company has introduced a new feature S Secure with this handset. With its help, you will be able to lock and hide a particular app. Apart from this, you will be able to keep any content private and secure. The Galaxy J7 Prime also has secure Wi-Fi, which encrypts data during public Wi-Fi hotspots.
Apart from this, the S bike mode given in J7 Prime was earlier seen in Galaxy J3 (6). The S Bike Mode feature has been made keeping in mind that the incoming phone call does not cause any trouble to the two-wheeler rider. Once this feature is activated, the user will be able to know the call coming from the feature called 'Smart Reply' in the phone. In addition, users can also activate this mode by tapping the Galaxy J3 (6) with the NFC tag that comes with it in the retail box. The company says that the NFC tag can be affixed above the petrol tank or helmet of the bike, allowing users to easily activate and deactivate this mode. During riding, the caller will know from a pre-recorded message that the user is currently not able to take a call on a two-wheeler. While this mode is active, the user will not detect the incoming call due to no vibration or ring at the time of the incoming call, nor will he have any problem. However, people calling the Galaxy J3 (6) user will be able to call directly by pressing 1 number in case of an emergency.
Keeping in mind the convenience of the user, Samsung has defaulted S Power Planning, S Secure, Secure Wi-Fi and S Bike Mode in the Quick Settings panel.
The Galaxy J7 Prime has an aperture F / 1.9 and a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Due to the large aperture, more light comes in every shot, which gives pictures with detailing during the day. Most photos taken with the phone's camera come with good color and crisp. We noted that focus can be easily done with this handset.
At the same time, good crisp pictures come from the Galaxy J7 Prime in indoor or when the lights are low. However, when zooming to full size, the photos get scattered slightly. Overall, the performance of the rear camera of the J7 is quite good. Only full-HD resolution video is recorded from the phone.
The J7 Prime comes with an 8 megapixel camera and aperture f / 1.9 with selfie with detailing. Photos from the front camera come with little noise in low light. The camera app given in J7 is easy to use and it launches instantly.
During our review process, Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime was able to do almost everything easily. The octa-core processor given in the phone works very well and we have no complaints about it. Games like Dead Trigger 2 run smoothly in the phone. In J7 Prime, multitasking is good and apps are launched quickly.
While using this device we noticed that about 1.3 GB of memory in the phone was empty all the time, which is quite a good thing. It is fun to watch videos and play games on a 5.5 inch screen. The sound from the speaker is quite good and we did not have any problem even at high volume. Samsung did not send us headphones in the box so we checked the audio quality with our headphones and we liked it very much.
However, the fingerprint sensor given in the Galaxy J7 Prime disappointed us a bit. Most of the time it works well but sometimes the phone is unlocked by pressing the home button several times. In smartphones priced lower than J7 Prime, we have seen much better smartphones working quickly.
During our review, we did not have any problem with 4G connectivity in Galaxy J7 Prime. And we were able to run 4G Vodafone SIM all the time.
Our standard benchmark test yielded very good data from the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime.

Samsung is not praising any kind of fast charging in the Galaxy J7 Prime. But we saw that the phone gets 0 to 40 percent charge in 30 minutes. It took just two hours for the phone to be charged 100 percent from zero.
